A few hours ago, I kept getting one of the yellow triangles with the black exclamation mark inside of it in my systray. It occurred about 100 times within a few minutes' time, and then appeared in my Systray every 10 or 15 minutes after that. I checked Computer Management/System Tools > System and took the attached screenshot.

When I was cropping the screenshot to attach to this post, I had to resize it a couple of times in order to fit the size requirements of attachments. One of the times that I deleted a screenshot that was too large, I received a message that said that "Recycle Bin on O is corrupted."

Does anyone know what could have caused these strange things to happen? Nothing else happened, no slowdown, no blips, burps, etc.

See this link for a discussion from others who were receiving this same error ID.

A lot of fingers seem to point to the Intel Application Accelerator, and a failing hard drive.

Do you have this software installed?

A backup of your system may be advisable.

Thanks for your help and suggestions. I don't have Application Accelerator installed and I do have a backup of my system.

What I wound up doing is turning off all of my ext hdds except for my O drive. I then ran "Process Idle Tasks" and "Flush DNS" using Dial-a-Fix. I also ran Advanced WindowsCare V2 Personal, which is a great X64 cleaning program. I rebooted and the problem hasn't occured again. I hope it fixed it permanently.

Looking a little further into what might have caused this to happen, I found, under Computer Management > System Tools > Event Viewer > Antivirus, a log of what what occurring this morning, concerning Avast. I was sleeping at the time that this occurred and no one else uses my computer except for me. A screenshot is attaced.

Has Avast failed? Should I uninstall, download a new file and reinstall Avast?
