This guy is freaking amazing. These clips show about .0001% of his talent on guitar. Scary thing is he plays bass, drums and keys just as well.

I dunno, but Im booking a flight there soon. Guthries playing is insane. To a lot of people it won't make sense. But if you listen to the lines he's throwing down, it's simply amazing. Not just mindless shredding like a lot of people do.

Yeah, it took the first little video for me to catch on to what he was doing... My first impression was that he was a technical mastermind with no feeling, but after the 3rd or 4th clip I was completely sold. He reminds me a little of some early Frank Zappa... I wouldn't be surprised if he was slightly influenced by him...

Not only is the guy just unbelievable on the fretboard, but the neck/board on that guitar must be incredible. Almost looks like he's using that spray on lubricant, or something like... I've never seen such effortless fretting.

My favorite little bit is one of the last clips when, at a break, he pulls off this amazing rake and bending combo that makes him cheer. After watching him for a while I was like "what's he cheering about? He can do anything, why was he concerned?!"

Oh, sidenote... I just received a set of EMGs for my Strat in the mail... nothing special, but I've never tried different pickups in it... Should be fun.

 

wow that guy is good. just plain wow. yeah, i wish i can play the guitar so effortlessy; i have to really exert force to get the key in right or else it'll sound horrible. anyway, i think it's time to get more music

 

they have added more clips. My DVD should be here today or tomorrow, can't wait. I gotta use some of Guthrie's riffs, they are just to good to pass up.
