I finally got around to buying a HDMI cable to run video from the PC to my hi def TV
Have a Compaq with a GeForce Nvidia 9800 card with HDMI out port.
I get a dandy picture of my desktop background but naught else.
How do I enable Windows media player to the TV?

I've spent about 45 min searching and all I've seen is HDMI options will not apppear in Nvidia control panel unless TV is hooked up before video card file is opened.
    Reinstall video card drivers?

Yes, you have to have the tv connected to the computer, in order to make changes for that port.

    got it
control panel > display > change display settings > multiple displays > duplicate these displays
Then full screen the media player and I'm GTG
