our hot water heater died on us last night, so I'm having someone who knows what they're doing come over tomorrow afternoon to replace it. question is, can we still use the water like normal, as long as we can put of with the cold (mainly taking a shower...)?

oh no....not good for a cold climate!!

gas hot water or electric? still safe to use either way as long as you dont mind a cold serice... if gas, check your pilot light just to make sure it hasnt gone out.

if electric maybe the heater core has had its day, however the water supply will still be safe to use either way...

would recommend a thick towel close by...hehe (unless your in mexico)

    good luck

its a gas tank. and yes, its dead (water dripping out of the bottom. thankfully there's an overflow under its stand and that it didn't burst...that the leak was somewhat slow. so, its definately getting replaced. but the water inlet valve and the gas are both off.

no worries then....all you can do is wait for the serviceman.

if you have a bath tub, a hot kettle helps!!!
