Wave audio setting keeps muting itself!

I've been searching to the far ends of the internet, and all I've been finding are some really weird R34 pics and solutions that seem to specific. By specific, I mean it was usually a really long discussion on a forum with a moderator, and lots of very specific instructions were given based on system reports/logs/etc. I was afraid if I followed one of those it might mess my computer up. So yeah...I'm sure you've heard the problem before: the "wave" setting in my volume keeps muting itself, and I keep pulling it back up to the top but after a few minutes it just mutes itself again.
If you could donate some time to me and help me fix this it would be VERY appreciated. If you need logs or system specs or anything, I will be glad to post them if you tell me how.
Also, for some reason when I talk into my microphone I get some feedback of my voice (like with all microphones) but I sound like some really robotty/T-pain voice...I don't know what that's about but that isn't my main problem.

Affirmative: system specs would be useful - what's the make and model # of your machine (please include any Service Tag #s), and what operating system version and Service Pack # are you using?

Also, please download and run EVEREST, a free system information tool.

When the scan completes select 'Report', 'Quick Report', 'Plain Text'. Select 'File', 'Save As...', name the report, and save to an easily found location such as your Desktop.

Then attach that file to your next post per these instructions: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post or File Attachment Tutorial.

 

Thank you for your help, and I was actually able to find the malware by running a few things in safemode. Turns out it was an old malware in many anti-malware databases. Thank you for your willingness to help, however.
