Way of Counting Downloads

    I have an exe file on a server, not mine, and would like to know if there is a way of keeping track of how many downloads were made of this file?
    Can I merely assign a counter to that 'link'. I don't care how many people visit the site, just want to know 'how-many' d/l my exe file.
