LOL I know! I'm pretty sure someone was smoking Something good when they came up for the idea for that one.

Ooookay... I have completely lost touch with this thread, and now that I want to post a video I honestly can't figure it out. I blame insomnia.

It refused to embed the video, which is what I wanted. Oh well. Now it works. :p

Just a friendly caution -- most of these are longer music vids...well, medium long. So there's about an hour of music, all told, in the links in this post. So you may want to get yourself a cold one and settle in or do 'em one or two at a time and pick up later from where you leave off, if you're interested. ;)

These are some music vids I've been watching/listening to lately. Here's BB King, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmy Vaughn and, first time I've ever seen this guy, Robert Randolph on pedal steel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMEzFgCLv8c

A rather quiet version of "Layla." Eric Clapton on acoustic guitar and Mark Knopfler on electric. (Just ignore the accidental feedback @ about 20 seconds. It's over almost immediately and there's no more of it during the rest of the video.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm1BBG5LkxA

And here's an older Knopfler working out on a Stratocaster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjJzlIedCuo

And then back in time to a much younger Knopfler and Clapton doing a 10 minutes plus version of Dire Straits'/Knopfler's "Sultan's of Swing". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jxsnIRpy2E

And here's Eric Clapton in a performance of "Layla" more in the vein of the "Derek and the Dominoes recording," but even better (besides Derek and the Dominoes didn't have the backup singer in that dress! ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX5USg8_1gA

I've been listening to various Neil Young versions of "All Along the Watchtower" since I heard one of them for the very first time a couple of weeks ago. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DBewzgXgYk

Last but by no means least....Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn playing Stormy Monday. "The eagle flies on Friday and Saturday I go out to play...." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CXcTLH6bpY

And goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.... :guitar

Besides being a lot of fun, for the band at least, this video answers that age old question
"How many people can you fit on a stage?"

Wow, I hadn't heard that song in years and I'd never seen that video of the long version either.

    Thanks! :-D

And then there's this bit of light-hearted, almost parody, country music....uh.....WARNING: those who are offended by frequent veiled/not so veiled references to marijuana should not view this video. I suppose you could argue that the song is intended to be a genuine cautionary tale. But that just ignores all the humor and fun they're having doing the song with Willie Nelson right there with them onstage. Anyway here's....

    lives, breathes, pulses and HOWLS!

This ain't no blues group that tinkered together their chops in a museum archive so don't be put off by that word "Heritage" in the group's name. "Heritage" here means it's in the blood and bones, down to the roots. This album (was only $5 for the mp3 version on *** a few days ago) lives, breathes, pulses and HOWLS! owwwwWWW@W! And sometimes purrs too...

The three principals are accompanied by some other really fine musicians on horns, percussion, and blues harp on various songs.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Khum2Hedk

More from the same album ("And Still I Rise" by the Heritage Blues Orchestra) on youtube also. I'd have to almost pick every song as a favorite on this album.

    Love these guys.

Been awhile since I've actually been around aside from the far and few between, "What did I do" threads. How do I add more than one video in a post without it exceeding the space and making it look all funny?

    *PS: How's everyone?*

Hey Spock. Good to see you. :)

I'm not sure what you are using since yours is in a box, but all you need to do is copy and paste the link to the video.
