wd my book prem II

Hello.I've tried to look for answers on this site prior to creating this post. My WD MYBOOK PREM II seems to be stuck with the blue circle spinning. Shows up in MY COM but is blank also used WD data lifeguard which shows the drive letter but gives no info. I don't hear the click of death but desperately need files off.

If you have a second PC available, try connecting the external drive to it. If it connects and reads, I'd temporarily transfer all the data on it to that PC or another external drive (it's unlikely this will solve the issue; however if this works it may indicate a driver issue on your main PC).

Otherwise, you may want to try a data recovery program. Based on user ratings in the downloads section, this appears to be one of the better ones (try the "free" version first. If it works you may have to buy the full version to recover all the files).
