web cam problems

i dont know if its hardware or software so bare with me lol. i was just wondring if its just me. on every one of my cams the video is very dark. i can turn up the settings for brightness and all but its still dark where you can just bairly see me. is there a program i can download that will fix this? or is it just cheap cams? cams listed below.

Veo "Stingray"
Sunplus "3.1 mega Pixels 4x zoom Digital Cam"
Unknown make "Pen Toy cam" bought at wal-mart
for $5 you know the one from the movie "I Spy" lol

 

All of the cheap ones that i have had[ under $25] were the same way, i think it boils down to quality vs dollar. ed

 

Tunered is correct as usual! BUT! If you can rig it up, then a better light source can make a HUGE difference!

Try NOT to put the light source shining into the cam lens as this will close the aperture down in a similar way to when you look at the sun and cant see anything else!

Try a lamp that shines on YOU and not into the lens... if you experiment with that, then you might be very suprised at the difference even with a budget cam.
