   i ran CCleaner and noticed one of the cookies that was removed was from web.checkm8.com
   i didnt go to this site so im not sure what this cookie is from.
   is this something i should be concerned about?

   This means its an online advertiser, so some site you visited uses them and they placed a cookie. Like all cookies, it was harmless.
