Web Design poem ... that nobody will get

Well, maybe Kodo will

<table>'s were your best friend
'till they're old hat,
No longer 'the trend".
So now we hail to divs, blocks and spans,
Poor tables are now in "no web man's land".

Column layouts were an easy job,
A row, two cells, your uncle's is bob.
Now sidebars don't go where they should,
They sulk at the bottom
That just ain't no good!
Text blocks like to flow over each other,
Like some sort of typographical lover!
Move over you stupid bitch!
I'VE SET ALL YOUR MARGINS AND YOUR PIXEL WIDTH!!

This CSS will surely drive you mad
You can't take your sites looking this bad
Before you go to grab your gun
GRAAAR! div{display:none;}!!

Mmmm.....

Its frustrating, to say the least. I get strange looks on the train when I dispair at the inconsistancy of CSS and its blunt refusal to do what I'm telling it to!

But, I'll have to get used to it. For accessibility's sake, this is how you should design these days. XHTML is a markup language to mark up data. CSS is a language to describe how that data is presented! It makes sense, and its wonderful when it works properly, just a bit of a shame it takes a heck of an effort to do that!

 

Just to make that clear, when I'm on the train, I'm on my laptop web designing. I don't just suddenly think "Oh god, CSS is SO inconsistant and illogical, I dispair!!" and go into a fit of strange expressions. Thats just weird.

Why not? I do. I always get a seat that way. And we don't even have any trains here.
