Web Page Authoring

I have spent alot of time in the last couple of weeks trying to author a web page and i was wondering if anyone knew of an easy to use program (markup language generator) that might help me get on my feet. I used to know some simple html but as of late i dont think its worth my time. I got ahold of adobe golive but i am having trouble getting started, its overwhelming with all of its options. I run windows xp on two overclocked machines with amd cpu's. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.
