Web page just buzzed at me - LOUD!

I've gotten pop-ups before telling me that a page is infected, but this pop-up was accompanied by a loud, obnoxious buzz. Jumped out of my seat. As far as I know AVG does not have a buzz feature and it didn't look like an AVG message anyway. So, I was just wondering if anyone else has ever been rudely buzzed at by malware or whatever.
I don't remember the site - something to do with Boston rentals - I shut the tab poste-haste! I did not click on anything within the page.
