    Hi,

A few days ago after I cleaned my registry using CCleaner and AMust Registry Cleaner, (I was evaluating them both at the time) I found out that I couldn't access some (not all) sites that I used to previously. I noticed that most of the time the sites that wouldn't load were ones that were accessing the googlesyndication or other ad sites. For example, the majorgeeks site would load only the header banner while the status line read "transferring data from pagead2.googlesyndication.com" and stall there. The only way I could access such sites was by running the cached site from google, and even then, it wouldn't work unless I enabled the text only version of the cached page.

My default browser is Firefox (I'd just updated it to 2.0.0.2) so I tried with IE 7 and Opera 9 --- the same problem with both of them. I did some research and disabled all three of my firefox extensions, disabled the high speed Internet tweaks, ran it on safe mode, scanned the computer for spyware using Webroot Spy Sweeper, scanned using Bit Defender...all tests came up negative for spyware.

Finally, I decided to restore my registry to an earlier time (beginning of the month) and that worked. However, bear in mind that after the registry change, my firefox browser is now 2.0.0.1 (instead of 2.0.0.2)

My questions is, does anyone know what registry changes have the potential to cause this behaviour?

    Thanks,
    Has

One more thing I'd like to add is that at the same time that I had the web page not loading problem, I noticed that my computer wouldn't auto-start (start up time set to 04:30 hours daily in BIOS so that my anti-virus and anti-spy ware programs would be finished by the time I need to use it).

Just in case someone has the same problem,

I've just figured out that Webroot Spyware Sweeper was behind the problems. Once I shut down the program I could once again access web pages without problems.
