webcams

    what can of webcam do I need to talk to someone in another state Do we need the same webcam? I have brought one(logitech c310) only to find out the other person has to have the same or it will not work! How can I see the other person without buying them the same webcam?

    Hi Richard

    Any type of webcam will do and both do not need to be the same, you will likely need to be on the same service like Windows Live Messenger or Skype to chat to each other via a webcam, as both of these applications allow webcam chats.

    Do you both have webcams with microphones or seperate microphones (built into some webcams but not always)? Yours has a built in microphone so you are ok, but the other end would need either a webcam with mic built in or a seperate mic to be able to listen and chat, but you would be able to see images without.

    Headset could be like this HERE again you are ok as your webcam has a mic built in and I guess your PC has speakers, but make sure the other party has speakers and a mic.
