websearch2

Hi guys
about a week ago, a toolbar with lots of links on it appeared on my IE browser so after some fishing around through the forums i found out it was called websearch2 and its from a site called www.lop.com . After a much time and effort I managed to get rid of it by doing all the steps in the 'READ THIS BEFORE....' thing. Anyway, it seems to have only gone from my XP user settings (I am the administrator) but its still on my sisters settings when she gets her browser up, and that www.lop.com is her homepage. I found on the site tho, that theres an uninstall file to download for it but should i trust it? This thing has already hijacked my browser before, but i really didnt want to spend another whole day going through the spyware removal steps. Anyone found an easier method to get rid of this?

 

nevermind. ive solved this one. My sister downloaded messengerplus 3 and this is the optional adware to download with it, which she downloaded without hesitation . for anyone else stuck with this, reinstall messenger plus (if youve tried running a spyware remover it damages the uninstall program) then uninstall properly. easy
