webst.ru!!!

    hi, i have a problem that is driving me really crazy! my homepage is been hijacked by this site (webst.ru) which seems like a russian site to me! the problem is that I JUST CANNOT remove this thing! i've used all the antispyware softwares i had, adaware,spybot,xsoft but nothing even detects this thing. even xsoft has this option that supposedly protects your homepage,even that is been changed to webst.ru and i can't change it back!i even tried to change the values of the registry in the reged but still nothing happened. PLEase help!

    Hi and Welcome

    First steps I would take are to follow our guide below,

    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis


    When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

    thanks a lot for your help.i did all the things you had written in the "read me first" section. and it seems that i finally got rid of that annoying russian site .i think bitdefender was the soft that managed to delete it. anyways thanks again...
