    Hello everyone at Major Geeks,

I'm pretty well new here, although I've been a "lurker" for years, just joined and posted this year, with excellent results I might add courtesy of Matacumbie, thefool and Halo in the software forums.

Ok enough of the formalities :) , this weekend me and the wife took in several movies, I'll focus on just one though United 93 , THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE EXPERIENCE. At first I was real leary of going, not knowing what to expect can be kind of scary, but we went ahead and went and afterward me and my wife were just stunned.

It wasn't because of the violence (which wasn't really objectionable), it was the whole experience, I actually found myself holding my breath, heart pounding in my ears, that sort of thing. You really get some inkling, (however small) of what these people felt and the horror of this situation, it moved me in a way I've really had no movie move me before, and I've literally seen thousand's , of movies.

That this movie had some of the actual air traffic controllers and military figures is even more moving, because these people also want this story told. To sum this whole thing up, to those people who maybe want to see it but are afraid of what they'll see, go ahead and see this movie, because the filmakers have done an excellent job with this so difficult subject matter.

After this movie was over everybody in the theatre was still seated a good 5-6 minutes after the movie ended, this movie had impact. I just admire the family members who allowed this movie to happen, it seems they too wanted this story told.

I could go on and on, but I wanted to share my viewing of this incredible movie with everyone who'll read it.

p.s. the other movies we saw were Silent Hill (good scare flick), and Akeelah and the Bee (Excellent familiy movie)

    Thanks :)

Thanks for the mini review James, its a film I have seen only a few small clips of in the UK at present and havnt looked as to a release date, I did wonder tho if from the evidence known that the film makers could portray the events with not just some accuracy but with care and compassion to the family members affected.

but with your review and obvious insight into US opinions on wether this movie should have been made, I will make a point of trying to see it.

Silent Hill is on my list of must sees, but not heard of Akeelah and the Bee, but no doubt I'll google it now! ;)

My niece saw United 93 this weekend and pretty much has the same opinion as you James. She thought it very well done and very emotional.

Gonna have to go see it. Good to see you on the board. :)

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

I don't go to the theater often; usually wait for the DVD release, but I'd like to see this one. Every report I've heard about it is excellent.

Not only a well-made movie, but a theme that we need to be reminded of from time to time. Those that orchestrated that day are still out there, and still hate us.

I heard a somewhat brief excerpt from the air traffic controllers tape, and it was mind numbing how determined and perverted these vermin were.
