Weekly Malware Scanning - 2010.11.06​

I weekly run a Malware Scan according to your forum guidelines as follows. Please comment.

Since it was carried out, thanks to you, no malware has infected all the computers which were installed with your scanners. Welldone!

1. Launch Desktop Cleanup Wizard
2. Launch Ccleaner for User Accounts on the PC including the Administrator account (on Win2K, XP and Vista) which will only show when you boot in safe mode.
3. Launch StartupCPL: to disable unwanted Startups
4. After a reboot, Update Sun Java
5. Update and launch SUPERAntiSpyware
6. Update and launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
7. Update Spybot S&D & REBOOT your PC.
8. Update SpyWare Blaster
9. Update antivirus program and then run full system scan and remove all that is found.
10. Empty ALL Quarantine type folders for antivirus and Anti-spyware applications.
11. In Internet Explorer, Adjust Active X security settings as advised in the forum (This is done as the changes has not persisted when I check after a week)
12. Check the defragger tool and if it recommends defragging, Defragment your hard drive.
13. REBOOT your PC.
