Weird Dangerous Lenovo Battery?

some laptop battery i have it barely fits in and its cracked on end so i can see inside parts and it looks malformed as if it melted or was made in error at factory

should i just recycle it as soon as possible? I dont like the looks' of it

whats it like running a laptop with no battery? i dont wanna reach behind to touch weird stuff..
when they mailed this thing was it wrong to mail it in the computer? Even if it wasnt defective?

 

Get rid of it NOW. The battery is unsafe. Let the recycler know it's burst.

Yes. Don't use it. If it looks like something got too hot and melted, that is probably exactly what happened. Houses burn down and people have been seriously hurt (or worse) from faulty batteries. DON'T USE IT. Take it to a proper battery recycling center. Don't toss it in the trash.

If the notebook runs without a battery installed (not all do), then no problem. Of course it will not really be portable but the notebook should be able to run like that for years - safely.
