Weird glitch with mouse pointer

I recently reinstalled Windows 7 because I had some issues not booting. After re installation I ran a scan on my drive with WD software, to make sure it wasn't failing, and it read as fine.
On and off the past couple days I've been having and issue where the mouse pointer flickers. If I single click on something (a program or folder) it opens multiple multiple instances of it. So if I click on Outlook, it opens it multiple windows of Outlook. If I click on a web link I've dragged to the desktop, it opens several instances.
I run Avast, and scanned, and it hasn't picked up anything. And a boot scan. The only thing I've done recently that I can think of is I installed the free version of Bryce (the graphic software). It had trouble running, kept giving a side by side configuration error. I read up on the forums and several people had the same problem, each suggesting different versions of C++ (like, 2005, 2008, SP1, patches, etc.) to fix it. I had to download and install a few until it finally worked. Could installing multiple versions of C++ hurt anything?

So basically, 2 questions:
1 - Any idea about the mouse issue?
2 - Even if it's not what's causing the mouse, could installing multiple versions\patches for C++ mess anything up, and if so can I remove them?

Nevermind, think it was a driver issue.
