Weird Problem!! please help

Right here is my situation..

I have an antec 900 gaming case which comes with 4 fans all with 4 pin molex connectors and tiny fan switches that are hard to get to....

Now i wanted a fan controller to make it easier but as they are molex connectors it made it difficult as not many fans come like this...i decided to go for the akasa fan controller pro and buy some 3 to 4 pin molex connnectors as pictured below...

Now when i connected everything up turned the controller on, it displayed temperature but would not give me any readings on the fan speeds (rpm) or let me control their speeds..

Why??

So i found a fan that had a 3 pin adapter and connected it directly to the fan controller without going thru the cables i bought and it worked..it displayed the fan speeds!!

Why wont them cables alow me to control and view the fan speeds!? I thought thats what they were for??

Would these set of cables make any difference?

Because the case fans went to switches, and had moulex connectors, the wires may be orientated differently.
I would look at the 3 pin fan wire colour setup, on the one that worked, and the moulex , and see which wire went to the switch. If is very likely that you will find it easier to replace the fans - the akasa setup that I had came with its own set of fans.

 

It sounds like the fans in your case dont have speed sensors,if they only have two wires coming from the fan 'not the molex' its impossible to monitor the speed of the fans
