   well the pc has the ati xpress 1100 chipset and thats what the device manager showed well i dl the newest drivers from ati and updated it all now it says its a xpress 200 series any ideas as to why?

   Possibly because the drivers used just display this, or they haven't been correctly configured for Vista from ATI yet? Is this actually causing you any performance problems, or just something that you've noticed?
