weird temp increase

i have a interesting situation. My motherboard temp was running about 36 degrees and today i got a new video card and installed it. After the install my temp increased to 41 degrees. Anyone have any ideas why? Also my cpu and northbridge is watercooled so you can't say its because of the extra heat the video card is putting out.

 

I would say your new video card, air cooled as far as I can tell from your post, is introducing some heat into the case. Does not look like temps to worry about though.

well the video card is a ati hd 3870 and its got a rear pci slot exhaust, so its not really adding temps to the case. I actually fixed it, one of the screws on the block for the northbridge was a little loose, once tightened back up the temps right now are hovering around 36-38. one thing i did notice is that i think i need a bigger radiator, my temps for the cpu are about 42-44 at idle and around 50-53 stressed. I ordered a new swiftech three core radiator, hopefully that one will help with the temps, and now i might add the GPU into the loop later.

 

Unless you are overclocking, those temperatures are perfectly safe.

Once again, those temperatures are very much in the safe zone, esp. if you are overclocking.

 

aren't they a little high for a dual core? i though the max for the cpu is like 62 degrees? But i already ordered a new radiator anyway just to be safe and will be installing it when i get it. also after adjusting the northbridge cooler my temps right now are much better, they have stabilized at 34 degrees.
