what am i doing wrong with 2nd signon & Firefox?

created another user account for my son (admin level) on XP Home machine & can't get any addons to take. he only wants a few of the security ones (AdBlock Plus, Yes PopUps, etc.) and everything appears to go fine until after Firefox restart. they aren't there.

any ideas?

 

Don't have any help to offer. I tried to install a couple of addons the other day and had the same problem with a few but others installed fine.

Just want to check that they aren't in the Addon list (Tools>Addons). And not that they are there but greyed out?

 

Firefox is fine on my signon. on my son's signon, the only plugins appearing (nothing greyed out) are the Java, .NET & Kaspersky (has all the same extensions as mine).

I'm still curious. So you click to add Adblock Plus it says installing and FF needs to be restarted. Then FF restarts and Adblock is not shown in the extensions list. Correct?

You said that your son's sign on has the same extensions as you. Were these just there when you first started FF from his account?

Can you get any new extensions to show on the list? Have you tried one that you may not even want, just to see if it will install?

 

only got errors. both our desktops are skinned so i think i know where to start looking for fixes. may simply be the different icons, target & how the Start Menu items are set up.
