What are these riddles called?

A man lives on the top floor of a 9 story apartment building with an elevator. Every morning he wakes up for work and takes the elevator to the ground floor. Coming back, however, he only takes the elevator back up to the 9th floor if someone else is in the elevator or it is raining outside, otherwise he gets out on the 5th floor and walks the remaining 4 stories.

A woman is at her mothers funeral, and meets a very handsome/ well hung man, they hit it off and talked for hours afterwards. She leaves but forgets to get his number, she asks many people from the funeral, but no one has his details. A week later she kills her sister... Why?

A guy is sitting down in a resteraunt.2 nearly identical twins approach him,one twin always lies while the other never lies,each holding a drink.One has a drink that will cure a disease he has,and the other contains a tasteless,colorless,odorless poison.He must pick a drink.But before he decides which drink to choose he can ask each of them only 1 question.What question does he ask?



What are these called? I'm thinking it's a specific kind of question/riddle/brain teaser, and I want to find more on the intarweb or get a book of them. What would I look for?

*I really don't want a bunch of 'Megan is 3 times older than Jack, Jack is 4 times older than Barbi...' ones, they're not my favs. But what are they called too, just in case?

Well, they're kinda logic problems. But in this case it seems to be riddles-involving-twins

 

Exercises in Lateral Thinking. I know the answers but I'm not tellin!

 

They are known as conundrums beanier and if you google that you should find enough to keep you busy for an hour or two!

 

i thought they were just called brain-teasers.

 

As for the second riddle if there is another funeral the man will show up again.

 

For the 3rd riddle, he should ask EACH twin if he may have a drink of their drink after letting them have a sip first.
Then drink ONLY after the surviving twin.

I think Scouse is right and you have to ask only yes or no questions, but I haven't seen them since my *ahem* "special" classes years ago.

I think it is a classic.
Where else could you have a character seriously called
"The dread pirate Wesley".
That could only be topped by the heinously evil chamomille.
He played a fun logic game with poison.
My "shewhomustbeobeyed" only slightly rolled her eyes at that movie.
