"I Am America, and so can you" by Stephen Colbert. The guy is hilarious! I'm about halfway though. I haven't been able to dedicate enough time to pleasure reading with school taking up most of my study time. Next on my list is "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. My girlfriend really enjoyed it and suggested it to me. :)

I devour books and tend to be a fast reader.

In between reading legal cases, just finished Bryce Courtenay's "The Persimmon Tree", that I found to be light enough reading to polish off in a week, before starting on "Touched by the Devil (inside the mind of the Australian psychopath)" by criminal profiler Dr John Clarke. Interesting, factual cases, based on his research.

Now looking around for something else to read, preferably light for a change...

I want to read Good Omens too. I've heard good things about it. Maybe I'll pick it up one day when I'm not switching from Doctor Who to Star Trek to Torchwood. I also wonder about that book Thud! Not sure if it's good or not.

Current read: Torchwood: Border Princes by Dan Abnett.

I failed to finish the Pickwick Papers by Dickens. It is too large to carry it in the bag.
Currently I'm reading 'Carry on, Jeeves' by P.G. Wodehouse. A book of short stories - very funny!

Reading the Princess Bride. It's hysterical... the author writes this whole elaborite autobiography in the beginning about how he researched the "historical figures protrayed in the legend" and the dedicated museum he visited with his Son's son... I wikipedia'ed it and he had 2 daughters and made the whole thing up. it's really funny.

Just recently received my copy of Windows Vista Annoyances by David A. Karp. A companion to my XP "bible" (Windows XP Annoyances for Geeks, SP2 edition).

Ordered it, at a discount, on October 1st, 2007 from Amazon :D. It wasn't released until Jan 1st 2008, and for some reason took until Mid February to arrive in my OZ post box. :cry

Read it through pretty thoroughly and it wasn't until I reached Appendix A that I found out they had omitted the Setting Locator Appendix entirely.

In the XP version, they list out "more than 700 individual Windows XP settings and where to find them" These proved invaluable to me.

The equivalents not being in the VISTA book spoilt the whole book, IMO.

Still if you want a 45 day free on-line read of the VISTA book go to www.oreilly.com/go/safarienabled and enter the coupon code VGJUKEH .

I,m not reading anything at the moment but when i do i generally like fantasy. Authors like Terry Brooks (Shannara series), Robin Hobb (The Liveship Traders), Victor Salvatore (Dark Elf Series) and lots more. I like to get a series of books because i tend to plough through them at speed. I also recently read 'Mohab Is My Washpot' an autobiography by Steven Fry.

Me too! I read "Gardens of the Moon" twice. The first time I had a hard time with it - I normally read pretty fast - and could not get into it. I read it again at a slower pace and it really hooked me. "Deadhouse Gates" has been fantastic as well.

Though, i think that Depp was born to play Jack - the only his performance apart from that, which I liked was in Secret Window

Besides reading to stay up to date with statutes and cases, just finished reviewing "Evidence, Advocacy and Ethical Practice - A Criminal Trial Commmentary", written by a former lecturer of mine...always good reading - a book I still pick up on.

Also done some laid back reading on series of Art books I have, that I always enjoy going through:
    • World of Durer
    • World of Michelangelo
    • World of Leonardo

Now looking around for something light and fictional to relax with.

It is not really a "plot" but a book covering a period of his life. It is no work of fiction, but based on fact. Bazza
