What can I do ???

What can I do to improve performance??
I know it can be tweaked but I really dont know how.
It seems to me that the memory usage is too high, but I dont know if it is normal or not.
Any advice??

BlackViper has some good tips also. And CachemanXP is a good memory manager with a process manager screen for instant lower memory usage and kill process ability. Of course implement all of MT's suggestions -- he's a whiz.

I ran the scanners and found " badtrans- b "
Took care of it.
Tried to download the updates 1 by 1 and wound up losing my internet connection. And the updates still would not install.I went to their help forum and searched for an answer and they said to try over and over again.
I tried about 9 times and gave up.
With the way things are going I will post the results of the reformat and re installiation in a day or two.
Anywho thanx for your help.
I have nothing on this main drive I cant lose so I am going to reformat and bite the bone.
Seems the easiest way to solve the problem.
