    Indeed they are Bill,

I'm someone who cannot text/sms while walking, do not use facebook or Twitter, but have a smartphone more for the data as I use it for tethering to a notebook or tablet, the Nokia's have a great built in SatNav app (so that was why in part I went with Nokia over another HTC), and a Windows Phone syncs with my Windows 8 PCs and allows me to use Skydrive and open and edit (basic) some Office docs.

Plus listed to music on a work journey on train, if not with company.

Awesome! I look forward to your opinion on it.:)

I do the same thing, Bill. Frankly I find it better than looking through the crappy magazines the Dr. offices always have. LOL

Hi Laura, I have the phone delivered today, BUT I need a damn MicroSIM and my current HTC HD7 does not have one, so my provider is sending out configured to my current number and settings, will be Friday now.

BUT first impressions as I can use WiFi at least is WOW, screen is awesome, Nokia Maps and the Camera are brill, feels good in the hand and doesn't feel as big as it actually is, lighter I feel than my HTC HD7 and the iPhone 5 I just liberated.

Speed is quick to move between apps and pages, very responsive, not tested it with Zune or the new Windows 8.... Windows Phone 8 app yet.

The other stuff is pretty much the apps you can get for this version of Windows Phone 8 but I will do a better round up when I have the SIM.

That's totally disappointing to get a phone and then not be able to use it fully! I had never needed to worry about a Sim card until this phone. I guess my others just came with them? I have no idea. When I ordered mine, one of the questions was whether you needed a sim card included in your order. I checked yes, since as far as I knew I did. LOL Anyway, I'm glad I did. They didn't charge anything for it, but I guess if someone has one already it already has their data on it, so they'd want to use that.

I'm still loving mine too. :)

    Hi Laura

That was a question I asked when I ordered the phone, Does it come with correct SIM, answer YES, sadly no it didn't come with a SIM. Should be here tomorrow, the other negative is my current phone does not work now as I gather you cannot have two SIMs with same number, but then that could be a positive as no phonecalls ;) Yes mine too SIMs are sent out free and at least my calls to my provider are free also.

Will have to get a Pay and Go SIM as a backup sometime in next few days.

One quick negative is that Win8 Phones do not work with the superb ZUNE, but the new App which is not as functional, easy enough to use but I now have to work out how to add my library to the new WP8 software.

One quick plus is it came with Office 2013 apps

    Glad you still liking yours.

Finally have a working phone, seems as if some tech support person barred my number thinking it was a lost or stolen phone, chatting with support live today we worked it out and I now have a working Nokia Lumia 920

Have to say its damn quick in operation and I'm comparing this with an iPhone 5, HTC HD7, Blackberry Bold.

The screen resolution puts the iPhone and my HTC HD7 to shame!!! my HTC looks blurred and out of focus.

Bonus is you can use touch with a thin-ish glove so no cold fingers.

Apps the Nokia Drive+ Beta and City Lens are good the Drive+ is a full blown SatNav with spoken Turn by Turn directions, seems to me on initial look to be accurate.

Other bonuses are for most Win7 and Win8 Phones as you have some great apps, plus the sync with Windows 8 and if you use a Windows ID for your account is great as pop a date in your calendar on your phone or PC and its migrated to the other, as is internet favourites, docs in skydrive etc

Office 2013 mobile is a great addition, not a full blown Office app but will suffice for minor edits and presentation of docs,

The phone is able to be used as a USB storage device as its shows in Explorer as a removable device and with 32GB and at present 26GB free is good...not filled it up with crap songs and images yet!

while its a huge phone its good in the hand and wow its smooth and sexy grabbable ;) will if I have it in my pocket look like a gansta with pants down by my ***!

Nice phone all in all.... guess I need a month or two with it, but the deal I got was a 12mth contract with early change or 3 mths so I can change in Dec 2013

Great news.:) I'm sure you're happy to have it up and running. It sounds like you're getting the hang of it pretty quickly too.

It does have a great screen, doesn't it? The Nokia is the one I wanted, but my carrier isn't carrying the 920...just the model down. I like the HTC though, so it all worked out. I think I heard that the Nokia was pretty big. The HTC is supposedly smaller. I love the feel of it as well.

    Enjoy playing.:)

Yeah seems a lot of carriers in different countries are getting the flagship 920 at different dates or if at all!

The HTC 8X was my other choice as I love HTC phones, I have had and still have the HTC HD2 and HD7, the HD7 will be a backup phone for me, hopefully it will get the 7.8 update

The 920 is large! not as big as the Samsung Activ S a 4.7 screen! mine is only 4.5 and the iPhone 5 is 4.0 my screen is the same size as an iPhone 5 but with better resolution (332ppi) IMHO.

In the year 2013, I would maybe say some of the best smartphones would be.

    1. Samsung Galaxy S4
    2. Apple iPhone 5
    3. Apple iPhone 4
    4. Samsung Galaxy S3
    5. HTC One
    6. Nokia Lumia 920
    7. Apple iPhone 4
    8. Samsung Galaxy S2
    9. Samsung Galaxy Stellar
    10. Samsung Galaxy S1

I desperately want to own a NOKIA NEXUS. It's a shame that Nokia, the market leader, THE Nokia, is struggling. Analysts have advised Nokia to make a switch before it's too late. Nokia has no money left to invest in R&D so Nokia Nexus would be the best possible thing for Nokia.

I would go for your choices of Galaxy S4, HTC One (neat phone and potential Windows phone version coming), and Lumia 920 as I have a Lumia 920, but the new Lumia 1020 looks amazing and if you are a photographer then more so.

iPhones and I have two of them 3 and 4, are fine for those new to smartphones but the volume of apps are not the be all and end all of a phone and mobile life.

Having just done the research and bought an S4 I would EASILY say it's a tie between the HTC One and Galaxy S4. That depends on your needs. Lumia is close. iPhone should be off the grid. iOS7 looks like crap and little is being brought to the now aging iPhone. That's why I abaondoned ship 2 days ago. Until the next iPhone is revealed, it would be below the 3 mentioned above and a tie with the S2 since both are now "old".

I agree with you Tim and the S4 is a cool piece of kit, IOS even in a new form and from what I have seen of the new "flat" IOS is that its not new and grabbing and Apple play off a App Store volume that in reality is full of what's termed "zombies" as they are fillers.

Android store, well great apps but be careful as some can be malware
Windows Store, gaining apps and in the main good apps, just not all the main favs yet.

I love my iphone. It is familiar to me. I use it all of the time. I don't mess with something when it is working for me.

I finally got tired of Apple not "upgrading" the iPhone so I ditched it, paid apps and all, and went with the HTC One X. :cool

I should have went with the Samsung S3 that my son went with but followed the advice of the squad at the AT&T store to go HTC. :(

My wife and daughter went with the Samsung Note 2 and they love it. My wife didn't want to give up her iPhone either but now she is glad she finally did.

I had the One X about 6 or 7 months and decided it was time to get another one as it was disappointing to say the least. I went with the Samsung S4 and couldn't be happier even paying full price for it. :cool
