On a positive note, since the bill from the 12-day stay in January is no longer a factor and I now have insurance again, I just scheduled the surgery for May 3. LOL

I think today I should learn to keep my mouth shut.

    Probably a good plan.

Whereas I do enjoy the free time that unemployment affords me, I like getting little things like health insurance and a paycheck. :-D

Who would want to aspire to be a welfare rat? I think there was another thread about biodegradable litter.. at least they could serve a purpose.

My sister and I went for dinner and gambling at the new casino about 30 minutes away. Shrimp cocktail, sesame-crusted seared ahi tuna, horseradish mashed potatoes and Asian slaw...and playing $3 on penny slots to cash out for $10. :-D

I went to dinner with some friends and the boy that I :heart. It was fun!

I haven't made jewelry in a while but I was feeling creative and made a cute pair of feather earrings. Now I have two huge bags of feathers I have to figure out something else to do with!

I am going to play with my new Minox spy camera and probably get into a lot of trouble. But I do that pretty well.

  12. dyamond

    dyamond Imelda Marcos of Majorgeeks

The bags aren't THAT big! :-D

It sounds to me like you actually like that :p

  13. Burning_Monkey

I enjoy the actions that lead up to me getting in trouble, but not the trouble itself. Some times the reactions I get to stuff I do baffles me and that is what leads to trouble. I am learning not to do those things.

    Slowly.

    Painfully.

    But most assuredly learning. :-D

It is still damn fun right up till I have to stand tall before the man and take my licks.

Can you come to my house and teach my oldest daughter the lessons you've learned??? Please? :-D

I have so far today; drank about 4 cups of coffee and posted on here. I am off to see my 90 year old grandmother and grandfather in a bit. I'm mixed on whether I would ever want to live that long. lol...seems like an awfully long time. LOL

  15. Burning_Monkey

I would, but if I am still getting into trouble on a pretty regular basis at over 4 decades old, then I am not learning very well and probably wouldn't be the best teacher.

ZOMG I found a whole other website for this topic!: http://www.facebook.com

Should check it out. You can hear all about like 6 billion people's days.

shock and suprise, in more than one place, people can ask about other people. It's not a crime to care for others and if you don't like the topic, don't read it then.

@ Laura.. not sure if I'd like to get to be that old either... my grandmother was 91 when she passed.

Just because I :heart him doesn't mean he is my beau.... yet ;)

I bought this new mouse because the package said it lights up. I plugged it in and immediately thought "oh this IS cool!", about an hour later I thought "this is getting kind anooying" and now I just want to break the darn thing LOL I don't think it would be so bad if it wasn't always flashing six different colors.. I have to hide it under the blanket when I'm not using it just to keep myself from going crazy!

I went to the gym and worked out again (it's becoming an addictive habit... I think that's good, but I'm not sure), and then I watched the Lakers beat the Hornets. And now I have weekend! :hyper

Last night I went to a get-together for just about everyone who went to my high school. Going in, I thought it would be hell on earth. Turns out I had a fabulous time and may have found a new friend. We're going out Monday night to see if we still have as much fun together without that much alcohol. LOL

Trust you Tim to take something as beautiful and pure as spring, something that brings joy into every mammal on the planet, something that has been laboriously describes in poetry, song and literature for centuries as beautiful revitalising yearly tonic...

    And totally out-do them.

    :-D

I spent 4 hours today digging up part of my lawn in preparation for the vegetable garden I'm going to have. I had to do it all by hand with a shovel and it took a long time to do a 10 by 6 foot area. I wish I had one of those little machines that digs up the grass for me. Not sure what they are called. Something like, a row tiller? Getting out all the rocks and weeds was the hardest part. It will all be worth it, though.

    Gonna do more tomorrow.

  25. Rikky

Rikky Wile E. Coyote - One of a kind

Shame you don't live closer you could have borrowed mine:)I've got a briggs and stratton auto tiller from about 1975,I paid £50 for it.

Works perfectly, people have burned out 2-3 modern ones that cost a lot more but are no where near as good.I have to put lead replacement fuel additive its that old but its never burped and starts with two pulls.

  26. ColonelAngus

    ColonelAngus Beefy

That would have been great to have. It would have taken me no time at all to do it with the tiller.

Let see, I ate my weight in cookies (not really but it feels like it LOL), made another pair of earrings and this mouse is going to drive me totally insane! these constant flashing lights are really pushing me to the edge! What were they thinking when they made it and what was I thinking when I bought it! ugh

roflmao Actually, that's not too far from the truth! We met at "my" bar, and then there was the jukebox, and singing...and then we decided we should take off before we once again found ourselves tipsy and unsure if that was why it was working or not. It isn't. ;)

Today I went to my friends job to decrapify some of the PCs. One is in pretty bad shape, and I only got half way done before it was time to leave. I have to go back to finish and I don't mind cuz it feels good to be workin on PCs again!

Today I will probably spend the majority of the day fighting off thoughts of vicious murder, suicide, quiting, or some combination of the three.

I wanted so much more from this current job and it has failed me on every account but one or two. This place is just as bad as the last as far as petty in fighting, territorial bickering, lieing, back stabbing, and what not.

I think I will start my new job hunting in ernest this evening. You would think that a major insurance company with protocals on ethics and action would be a bit more professional than a hog slaughtering plant staffed by racist jack hole hillbillies, and you would be o so very wrong.

After a very interesting night, we finally got my pain meds figured out so I am constantly higher than a kite but NOT in pain after having surgery yesterday afternoon. For a while there I wasn't sure I was going to win, but it's all good now. Hopefully home by the end of the weekend!

Having been there, I can only say: start searching. It is definitely time to move and your anger will achieve nothing except to tie your guts up in knots.

The sad part is... good workplaces are the exception, not the rule. But you'll never find one if you just stay where you are.

Wow you have been busy, and congrats to your son and bride on graduating from Med School, what specialities are they going to follow or general medicine?

As for did a fair chunk of my project work, then 2nd draft of a set of SOPs for my dept (its mind numbing writing these things but once the ball is rolling its not so bad), went to an open day in work on a topic of interest for me, not my normal work area just a personal interest, and very enlightening what the chat I had. The went to vote in our local gov, local parish council and AV referendum, when the woman in the poling station started handing me voting forms, my reply was "wow, don't get this much paperwork when you buy a house"

Lady Natalie is leaning towards Internal Medicine. Josh (against our wishes! :() is going to be a psychiatrist.

I have nothing against psychiatry - in this day and age, shrinks are probably needed more than ever. It just seems that psychiatry could turn out to be the hardest road to take.

Among other things, I was an Army EMT with combat medic training, and I carried it over for a few years after I got out. Trauma is a hellacious business, but at least I got the satisfaction of knowing that I splinted that leg correctly, or that I did the right CPR steps, or that my triage saved lives in real time, etc.

A psychiatrist, however, might go years before seeing tangible results with a patient - and even then, he's going to have to constantly look over his shoulder to see if there's been a regression.

    Tough job.

    ***

So, to get back to the gist of this thread: today, I packed a case of Heinekins in ice, marinated 20 lbs. of New York strips, and picked up the celebration cake from the local baker.

    Party Time! :wine :dancer :celebrate
