I thought about asking this in one of the photographic threads but decided it would be off topic. What cameras you you guys using to take pictures?

My favorite recently bit the dust. I'll be looking for a good used camera cheap.

I shoot with a Nikon DSLR (D800E)...so I don't think that's what you are looking for, but you should check out B&H for a used camera. Its the best camera store out there and they are extremely reputable so if you are buying used, you'll know you can trust them.

I believe the camera Kestrel uses was reasonably priced and she is taking gorgeous shots with it, so I'd seriously look into what she has.

Wow! $2,500 on my first search! Yep, bit out of my league I'm afraid. Mine was a Kodak DX4330.

Yeah, I'm pretty seriously into photography and have done some portrait stuff for people, some charity shoots...but mostly landscape.

lol...that's just the start on my money pit investment. Its a very expensive 'hobby'.

Again, I bet Kes sees this. I know hers is more in line with what you are looking for.

    What is a bridge cam?

iPhone. :-D Or an older Nikon Coolpix 5200. Have a Fuji FinePix S20 Pro, old tech, but awesome for macro. If I really want to get a great picture, I borrow the boss's Hassleblad digital camera.

My Droid Turbo has a 21MP camera in standard mode (4:3), but I use the Widescreen (16:9) mode at 15.5MP. Works like a charm, coupled with whatever photo editing can be done when I open pictures in Windows 8.1. :-D

    Nikon P600

It was given to me out of the blue by an Aussie Internet friend. I had sent him some Maine Maple Syrup which I guess he thought very highly of. :wine Still trying to figure the thing out but it takes nice pictures.

Currently my Nokia Lumia 920's camera 8.7mp good enough pics, the house camera and not used much is a Cano IXUS 275 compact, I sold my pro cameras years ago, didnt use them as much as I should. Plus phone and compacts are good for every day images, the more detailed as Laura takes needs a pro camera with bayonet lenses.

I don't own an expensive fancy camera. I have a old Kodak Easy Share Z712 with 7.1 mp and 12x zoom and a Sony Cyber-shot with 14.1 mp with a 10x zoom. Both take decent pictures for a amateur like me.

I think and coming from a design and Photographic background is that expensive cameras do not make for great photos, its really the subject and how you position it, so with lower end cameras you can get superb pictures via just the angle of the shot.

Couldn't agree more David, it's not 'always' the cam. I have seen many, many garbage shots from people who have big fancy pants equipment.

Nikon S9600 bought on Black Friday 2014. I think I paid $149 at BestBuy. I use it for my business, and it has not failed once.
