Being a retired OB-Gyn, I earn my current living from:
Social Security
Investment income.

With a tiny boost from online poker.

 

I work through IATSE Local #26, which is part of IATSE, an international stagehands union. My primary training is in lighting and wardrobe, but I also work as a carpenter, audio tech, and properties tech as needed. I also serve on the executive board of my local, and on the board of the Michigan Union Label Council.

Hahaha, good point! Retired inventory control/production analyst for a turnkey UNIX system back in the early 80's. IBM's PC killed us and took quite a while before we got back up on our feet and by then, it was too late. Dual booted a 286 with DOS or our own proprietary SW. Too bad, as that was an exciting job as we grew very quickly. We used to export to the UK quite a bit. It was called AES Data.

I am a CNC (computer numerical control) Lathe operator/ Programmer/Forman. But I much rather be doing what shanemail does.

I'm a Commissionaire. Even though I work midnight and evening swing shifts, I truly find it rewarding.

 

Biochemist working in drug discovery. But the cool part of my job involves teaching robots to *act* like a biochemist and then to perform an experiment a hundred thousand or so times a day.

 

Retired from Xerox. I run "Granpa's" day care. I take care of my 2 yr old grandson, and 18 mo old grand daughter 3 days a week, as well as get my 7 yr old granddaughter and 5 yr old grandson off the bus when they get home from school, and watch them until Mom gets home at 5. In my spare time, I volunteer at the Red Cross.

 

Currently, I'm a tech level 1 IT guy, who will be temporarily taken the position of Assistant Director of IT, which will be disbanded, and then finally become System Administrator at the local county Government.

 

Windows SA for DoD. One day closer to retirement!

 

I live on the residual payments from my greatest invention, you know those little plastic things on the end of shoelaces? Thats me!( OK that's what I think about when I'm doing my real job, actually dipping the ends of shoelaces in that plastic stuff.
