    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [comcasttoolbar] C:\DOCUME~1\David\LOCALS~1\Temp\uninstall.exe -df "C:\Program Files\comcasttoolbar\"

A short while ago I uninstalled the Comcast Toolbar simply because I never used it. It did not show up as spyware or malware. Now I get a dialogue during start up with the text above through .exe", that actually halts the start up, until I check OK. The entry above is from HijackThis. If I check the box and Fix it, it is deleted, but 1 or 2 restarts later it is back. I also get recurring notices from WinPatrol that this continually tries to load.

I am thinking that something else was not uninstalled, that is searching for the Comcast Toolbar during startup, and regenerates this. There is a registry entry still remaining "comcasttoolbar.dll" Also, what do the attributes -df mean?

I'd like to permanently get rid of this, but another option might be to simply reinstall the toolbar and just not use it?

This isn't malware. This is an issue for the Software Forum.

I will move the thread to Software.
