What Gfx Card to choose...

Hi all.

One for all you all knowing GFX card people.

I currently have an ATI 4770 running with an i3-540 OC'ed to 3.4Ghz.

I need more graphics power so I can play Starcraft 2 in full HD (with my current card I have to run it in 1650x1050 to avoid stuttering owing to only having 512MB graphics memory).

I am still on windows XP and will not be upgrading to windows 7 until after Diablo 3 comes out, maybe even the next SC2 game. So directx 11 is not that important to me.

For as little as possible money, I want the best value upgrade path for the next 6 months. It's only to play SC2 and maybe Empire Total War, possibly Shogun 2 as well.

The way I see it, I could get ...
a) an extra 4770 from ebay and CF - cost me only £40-50, almost double my performance in 80% of games, power consumption around 170W.
b) sell 4770 and buy a 4890 1GB - cost me about £85, get about £40 back for my 4770, single card very fast for it's age, power consumption around 190W.
c) sell 4770, buy a 6790 1GB - cost about £110, get about £40 back for 4770, about 10% faster than a 4890 overall but with DX11 support and a small card, power consumption about 150W.

What do you think? Have the money now so can buy tonight just thinking maybe people out there have had some of these cards and can tell me how they are in comparison.

How much system memory do you have?

Seems like you have everything already worked out.Price/performance a second card is easily the best bang for buck and that's what I'd go for.

I've currently only owned Nvidia cards so I have have no experience with any of those sorry.
