What hard drive is in these pics?

Hey there guys

I have an IBM Travelstar 30gb hard disk and i bought a 2.5" hard disk usb enclosure. But the enclosure has a different fitting to the pins on the hard disk. my other laptop hard drive is ok.

What do i search for when looking for a connector for this drive

Ask someone to show you a SATA drive. SATA is a completely different pinout from the older type hard drive pinouts. Bazza

 

It is kinda hard to tell in your picts, but some laptop drives have adapters that go on the dive so it will work in the laptop. (Carefully) see if it is attached or if it will come off (again, carefully, it is easy to bend those damn pins!)

While I was typing this, something came to me. We have a couple of IBM laptops that use a proprietary drive interface if I am remembering right, they only work with TravelStar disks.
