Mmmm... Also, how can I know if I had Win Zip installed in my computer?

If you had WInzip installed on your computer, you would see it it the program list under Start>All Programs (well more than likely anyway).
A good freeware multi format archiving/compression tool is 7zip. There are others of course.

All the above are good zippers/unzippers. I prefer TUGZip; after trying 5 or 6 different programs, I stuck w/ TUGZip. It handles just about any format and it integrates into the system shell (the right click menu). Give it a try!

Winrar isn't the best out there, but it is (mostly) free, and easy to use.

    I use ExtractNow.

It handles RAR and Zip quickly and offers the right selection of destination options for me. I like the named folder option myself because I'm lazy. It also does Jar, Bin, and ISO if you like snooping through your comp, and its free and full function.
