I have an Acer Aspire 5100 running Windows XP SP 2. I have System Mechanic anti-virus installed.

My virus scan keeps deleting this over and over. When it does, certain of my programs (mostly games) stop working.

    AAX1A.TMP.EXE

What IS this, and is it a virus or not? Why does my virus program keep removing it??

    Thank you,

    Hsmama

That file may have something to do with DivX. Where is the file located when System Mechanic is deleting it? If you games stop working when the file is removed then it seems probable that it is required by your games. Thus you may need to speak to Iolo about a possible false detection that they need to fix.

Even PrevX declares that the file is safe:
