A method for moving data over regular phone lines. A DSL circuit is much faster than a regular phone connection, and the wires coming into the subscriber's premises are the same wires used for regular phone service.

DSL use a router, but they also call it a 'modem'. Being digital there is no modulation of the signal. Is that what your asking? You phone jack plugs into a jack and ethernet plug into your pc. If you want an example google cisco 675.

    Welcome to the boards.

Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) transmits data over phone lines without interfering with voice service. DSL uses a modem, as does ever other type of internet connection, routers are only needed if there will multiple computers using the same connection or sharing files with other computers in the house.
