What is Neo?

i have herd of folding and may be interested. but i don't know what Neo or TSC is. will somone point me in the right direction? i may be interested in helping out Majorgeeks in folding but i don't know what Neo or TSC are.

 

Neo is a defunct project (or at least it was) that used to be a platform for distributed computing in aid of medical research, however they decided to make a sub project to "crack the X-Box code" to allow them to install illegal software on it. So, we didtched it like a stone in the sea.

TSC is another project which isn't going on any more, as far as I know, certainly we arn't concentrating on it.

Basically, we are concentrating soley on folding at the moment.

Oh, ok, cool! What dose the DC teams stand for? I also see a locked DC forum that I just clicked on. I might get started folding for you guys tonight. I see you are doing pretty good! I hope I can help.

The locked forum is for tactics, which the regulars will have access to presently.

DC stands for Distributed Computing. Basically means one centeral computer assigns the work, and many other machines take "chuncks" of it and process it, then send it back. It is a means of combining the power of many machines to accomplish one task.

 

Cool. Well i hope to be a regular here soon considering I just joined. I will try to help whenever I can! Thank you goldfish for the information. This is for a GREAT cause so anything counts right?

I should be getting a few in this week. I'v been wondering since i seen that DC Tatics forum what kinda tatics you could possibly use for folding when you just let this thing run. Maby I'll find out one day but untill then i'll do what i can!

i was thinking just my celeron and 64 3200. how well would that do? would i be tatic worthy?
