What is this file for ?

    C:\windows\ifinst.exe27.exe just noticed it yesterday my Av picked it up and put it in untrusted group !

    Hi RJ

    While infinst.exe is legit as it's the Intel Chipset installer file, the one you list does not and I would be running the Malware removal R&R

    Hi there Halo sorry but it is C:\windows\ifinst27.exe could you check that for me please and when i go into C:\windows its there as an application file IFinst27 created 11/10/2009 64kb

    Rusty you could upload it to virus total.
    http://www.virustotal.com/
    But for peace of mind go through the Read & Run.
