I opened my video folder today and was greeted by this error message. I tried to x out of it, but it keep on popping up on the screen about five more times. I've never seen this before and I really don't know what to search for in Google. Anyone have any ideas?

What errors do ye get within system and applications, within START, then RUN, then type in: eventvrw.msc (press enter).

Also, you state: "video folder". Um, I assume this is a windows folder you created for videos. But, just need to check.

    What codecs have ye installed?

It's the default "My Videos" folder that is in "My Documents" from when I installed windows. The only codec I've installed on my computer was DivX and I've tried uninstalling and updating it. The same error message still shows up.

    Eventvwr.msc shows:

A few application errors: Event ID 1000 &
The Systems sections shows some errors for not being able to sinc my clock and something to do with adobe reader stopping unexpectedly.

Nothing there throws a red flag in relation to my videos.

    Thanks for the help.

If you, turn off thumbnails, does it work then?

Also, if ye do a search for hidden files, for the files, "thumbs.db" and then delete it. Does it work then?

thumbs.db will be located within your "my videos" folder. Or the location of your videos.

When I turn the thumbnails off, the error message no longer appears. Weird. Maybe it has something to do with rendering thumbnails for 26GB of video files?

I have no issues with viewing 50.6 Gigs of umm video files. ;)

But, I'm running vista. I'd delete the thumbs.db file, and see if that clears anything. :)

Alright, I'll try that. I've been dual booting XP and Vista for a while now and I've been meaning to just run Vista as my main operating system. I haven't had the time to switch everything over though. If the problem continues, I won't bother over it anymore. It should go away with Vista. :)

    Thanks for all the help!
