    Sikvik, I like it!

"Mr Cameron told the BBC's North West Tonight: "If you live in a council house you're getting a house at a discount from what other people have to pay and with that should come some responsibility.

"For too long we've taken a too soft attitude towards people that loot and pillage their own community. If you do that you should lose your right to the sort of housing that you've had at subsidised rates."

I think the US should do something similar to people who receive gubment subsidies and violate the laws.

    @ Sikvik
It is certainly what is needed but i doubt they will have the b***s to go through with it because the UK slavishly adhere to the EU ruling on human rights and they are just making noise to please the masses.

P.S in other news papers this woman is already consulting human rights attorneys.

Took me a while to notice the people in the background of the first picture! Nice find JP.

"Sales for baseball bats on Amazon UK have risen by more than 6000 percent over the past 24 hours, presumably due to the civil unrest engulfing the island nation. But it's unclear whether the sales of sluggers are due to trouble makers gearing up for a fight or concerned citizens looking after their own interests."

Why do they even sell baseball bats in the UK? Next riot will be a mass of confusion, will they riot according to the US baseball rules, or the UK cricket rules? :-D:-D

I think its a good idea too but as Bill said nothing will come of it.

If they did start turfing scum bags out they'd have to store them somewhere and hence they would have to build large amounts of temporary accommodation, somewhere much cheaper than prisons or there would be no financial benefit in turfing them out 'Tent city?' not a chance over here.

It does seem ridiculous, the council houses they live in are some of the best most sought after houses over here now, well built with largish garden front and rear, often worth upwards of £100,000. If they are destroying the society that gave them this privilege there must be some kind of punishment that can be handed out,you can't take anything else from them though as they have nothing. This is a problem in many societies, there will always be people like this in the lower class and there isn't any way to change their whole outlook on life, governments have tried all sorts throughout the world but the culture is unchanging.

They don't have anything to start with and they don't fear the law or jail as you and I do,they live for the short term and don't think about long term consequences.

Maybe the fear of losing their house would knock some sense into them, there is quite a waiting list for housing over here ATM so they know how hard it will be to get another one.

Well Rikky, why not a tent city? Works pretty well for that Sheriff in Arizona. :-D

I agree, not going to happen, but it is amazing how some will abuse the system and society.

They'll all get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again rolleyes cannot be any sterner than that other wise their "Human Rights" will be infringed :-D:-D This Country is becoming a laughing stock, it's about time folk got a backbone, no one is standing up to these gangs for fear of reprisals, it should be the gangs that are scared not good decent law abiding people, If you show disregard to another persons "Human Rights" then surely you should not be protected by those same rights??.
Bring back the Birch / National Service, if it is jobs that they want then send all the foriegn farm workers home and make the lowlifes do farm labour, make them roll their sleeves up and do some hard graft instead of sitting about getting off their heads and robbing folk for their next hit, 6 weeks training then sent to the front line will sort the men from boys ;).
I am pleased to say that I am a "Geordie" (from the N'East of England) and we have not joined in the ruccass, we are proud of our City and do not want to see it destroyed by thuggish/ criminal hoards of rampaging youths that have spat their dummies (soothers to our US contingent) out.

11-13 year old's I would be going after their parents and holding them responsible, that is where it starts. I know in my city if a underage child drinks and gets caught, the adult who's home they were drinking in is held responsible. I have just been catching up on all of this, have several friends in the UK, one in London and two in Bristol, waiting to hear their take on what is happening. I just have a deep mistrust of the news.

Thanks Bill and Rikky. Thought as much. The PM will look daft, after making such a strong statement.
This stuff works in India though. If you are a crook, rioter etc- and stupid to be caught, so be it. You lose what ever little right. Locked in the clink, awaiting a court hearing. Could be days or months.

The Home Ministry found a novel way to counter extremists, who were on the run and in hiding. Gather up the family members (kind of sick) and lock them up, till the perp simply surrendered.

    Cheers..

Ain't those friggin' Lib Dems a hoot? Cameron promises the British public the Human Rights bill will be somewhat diluted. Then promises Clegg it won't be. Clegg finishes last in the general election and has as much say in the running of the country than Cameron. Cameron needs to bitch slap Clegg, tell him to mind his own beeswax and shut the funk up. Send in the army on the rioters. It is a quasi war zone after all.
Oh, smeg, I forgot, we sacked half the military to save a few quid. Real clever.

Me Geordie too!! I heard there was a riot last week in the Toon. Shola was given a two year contract extension :-D
Riots in Sunderland after todays result? :)
Sit doon if you love the Toon......

    Philistine :p

I'm waiting for parliament to return as I want to "sadly" watch the debate on this in the ECHR as personally I dont like it and do not think it aids the UK at all I actually think in all honesty the UK needs to pull out of all but the trade agreements part of the EU as that's all the Common Market was supposed to be until someone in past gov sold us down the river.

The ECHR is a mechanism to allow lawyers and do-gooders to make hay!
