What is wrong with some people?

Have a close family friend. My wife and I have been trying to clue her in on her husbands extra ciricular activities for a few years now. About a year or so ago we seriously confronted her to try and open her eyes. You guessed it, didn't go over so well. Time goes on , she is stressing abit but still won't entertain the idea of the guy cheating on her.

During this time she gets diagnosed with cancer. They have to remove about 80% of her stomach and the valve at the top of her stomach. To make a long story short she can't each much of anything anymore except crackers and antacids, has to sleep almost upright to keep the acid in her stomach at night and looks anarexic(sp?) from all the weight loss.

Yesterday I get a frantic call from my wife early in the morning. Our friend checked her husbands voicemail and the girlfriend left a message. She confronted him and things got ugly.

Had to drive over put his stuff in the driveway and get her out, plus get her kids, and head to my house.

The thing that gets me is , this is his 2nd marriage. He has 2 kids from a previous marriage that are on the edge of being permanetly messed up for life and has two kids with our friend. Now after his wife is diagnosed with cancer and not in good health , he goes and does this to her? I mean holy bleeping bleep, don't his kids mean anything to him?

sorry for the rambling. His two youngest daughters are 5 and 7 and are completely devestated. How the BLEEP can someone do this to a family especially after they know the one of them is on the verge of dying.

It happens, my brothers wife, same kind of thing…..her dad cheated with another woman, that became wife number two……sixteen years later, wife number two found him and secretary messing around at work, just like it happened with girl, who became wife number two……

…….you guys tried to tell her…..just wondered, she knew about his past, was she part of the problem first marriage?……..wobbles

 

I hear ya Bluesman. That is so sad for everyone. I don't know what your relationship with the guy is like, but maybe it is him you should be talking to, and not her now.

Sorry to bring up yet another sore point in your life, but I am a firm believer we are given all circumstances in life to use for a positive outcome. I remember recently you telling us of the sad loss of a friend in a boating accident, who had a wife and child(ren). Maybe you could share this with this other friend who is messing his wife and children around. Life is too short, and sometimes we need a reality check and bleeping big wake up call.

Just a thought. I am so sorry your friend and her children are being put through this. She is blessed to have the support of you and your wife.

 

Nope, she wasn't the end of marriage number one. Actually that wife ran off to oklahoma and married her brother, seriously. I almost fell over when I found that out.

 

You're gonna love this. The person that died in the accident was a close friend of the knucklehead in the above story.

 

That kinda makes me feel you should talk to him even more. What happened to that family was out of their control. This is not out of his control.....yet???

I would never make light of this situation. It is very sad and makes me very angry.

When I first read it, I thought he had gone to another woman for comfort from his wife having cancer. Then I REREAD it, and saw it had been going on before that.

What I think should be done to this man is not printable in this forum. Especially when there is kids involved. They are the ones who will suffer the most.
If the worst happens and the wife dies, how will these kids ever be able to cope with daddy and the new girlfriend?

Don't mean to bring religion into the topic, but...God work in mysterious ways, and maybe one day there will be a very mysterious and/or happy twist/outcome to the end of this story!!!!

This is truly a sad story.
I honestly feel that there are some people, no matter what the circumstances are ( if there is any) just can't stay faithful for whatever reason. Kind of like a sickness I guess.....
I really feel bad for this woman, you seem like a good friend.
I hope everything works out for her.

You hit the nail on the head there. It is a sickness...a mental sickness of lust. So many confuse lust and love, and become numb to the latter and then think the former is the real thing. Sometimes people that find themselves walking this path are so wrapped up in themselves they are blind to the very thing they are doing. It makes us sick to watch, but it makes them even sicker when the day of realization comes of what they did and how bad they messed up. The kindest thing a friend can do is show them that now, before it's too late IMHO

 

Randy....I am so sorry that your friend continues to face such turmoil. You and Theresa should be commended for being such good friends....as for her hubby...I have MAJOR issues with those who do what he did...nothing short of castration should be in his future. I volunteer to perform the task

Thanks for all the replies and kind thoughts. If I can just get her to get a lawyer now before its to late, things should work out ok. As for me I am trying to set an example for her kids and mine by not taking a baseball bat to his kneecaps. I couldn't sleep last night because I would like to take care of him old school style even though I know thats bad on my part.

Tried working out this morning to relieve the stress but it just fueled the fire...
