What Makes a thread "Official?"

Who decides this?

And when someone creates and "oficial majorgeeks..." thread, is it endorsed by majorgeeks? Have royalties been paid for trademark usage?

And why are there so MANY official threads? What makes them official?

You start a thread that says "begging to pay homage" then the body says to either CP, MA, Abby, or if noone better can be found, Kodo... Requesting clearence to kiss butt... and then beg.

Oh c'mon! This could be a very entertaining thread...a lot better than hearing about how you took a poo when you got up etc. And maybe, just maybe some of the wonderful camaraderie and FUN that we used to have here in the lounge would begin again.

I dunno, poo may have some potential here. Any threads about farting always generate a fair amount of interest.

I'd assume that anything from MA or CP could be considered official, since they own the place, but when MA post a picture of his latest Harley on a Saturday and tells everybody to go outside & get some sunshine, is that an official order or only a smart suggestion. Gets confusing.

How about we make it more general and call it "Official excretionary functions thread"... bunch them all in one thread.

I was going to say that when you think of a thread idea and deem it "official" it's probably because you figure KODO is going to join it sooner or later and "officially" hijack it.

So you have to have some sense that he is lurking about...

(but even as I write this, he hasn't joined in this discussion, oddly enough, considering the topics that have come up and he has even been named more than once).
