What programs can i use to scan for rootkits?

I believe a few of these work with Vista. Check AVG and GMER. GMER definitely supports Vista.

 

Excuse me but you only ask what programs you could run to look for rootkits in Vista. You did not say you are having malware problems. If you are having malware problems, you need run the READ & RUN ME sticky procedure and then see if you still have problems. If so, you should then attach the logs from the READ ME and tell us what problems you are having. Just like we are not a HijackThis log reading forum, we are also not going to start reading long rootkit scan logs just for the heck of it. Sorry but that just the way it is.

 

You just asked what rootkit scanners work with Vista. You did not say you were having malware problems. If you are having malware problems, the first step is to run the READ & RUN ME and then if you are still having problems, you need to attach all the requested logs from the READ ME and you need to describe your problems. A rootkit scan is not the first step and will not help you locate all malware problems.
