What put's a smile on your dial

I thought i would start this thread because of all the gun and war talk i have been commenting about and that got me a little depressed.
So what in your world put's a smile on your dial.For me its my first grandchild admittedly at first i thought she was a sign of getting older as for me i never had grand parents as i grew up they passed away before i was born or not long after.so when i am down i peruse my picture folder and can't help but smile.

In the first category, my cat's complete and absolute focus when she starts hunting the red laser pointer moving across the floor. You have never seen such determination...!

In the second category, it was caused by the coffee The Guy brought me this morning. Apparently he decided that he was going to keep the cat out and all noise away, and let me sleep until I woke up on my own, when he got up this morning. When he noticed I was awake, he brought me a cup of fresh coffee.

He doesn't drink coffee. He made it for me so it would be there when I woke up.

Good Morning iwunderdownunder! This is a nice thread, and Congrats on the cutie grandchild! Adorable!

For me, I will have to say, hubby making the coffee and breakfast in the morning. Yes, he does drink coffee, but it is the thought, that he does it for me.. And, makes a mean breakfast!:yum

Secondly, is flying my birds, and watching them soar high in the blue sky, is just awesome... The old saying, "Free as a bird" has never been so true.. They are just beautiful to watch

Baby sitting for the little Grandchildren is always fun. We have a 14 monther who gets in to everything. Barricades are every where but the baby over comes them all. :clap

 

the smile on my dial would have to be when my son says goodnight and I love you, just as his heading for bed! I don't quite know why that is in particular, but it always does it for me!

Well, it's not really the coffee so much as something that I really didn't expect that he did just because he thought it would make me happy. What that something is, that's different from couple to couple, but really, being romantic is all about noticing the person you want to do romantic things for, and do what you think would make them happy.

I love it when The Guy out of nowhere sends roses to me at work so I can put them at my desk and show them off to my co-workers. But when they ask about romantic things he's done, what inevitably comes up are the 40GB mp3-player, the large water bottle for my new job, and the sword I got for our anniversary. Screw diamonds... I have music and a katana.

So no, it's not as easy as just making coffee and calling it good.

 

A leftbreaking big wave, off a winter ground swell, and if I kick hard, and catch it, and slide down the face, and then get barreled at the end, I laugh and I'm happy and whoop it up and chatter to myself. Yesterday me and a young friend of mine were out bodysurfing until after dark when the town lights came on, and I got out of the water cold and happy: that always makes me smile.

Today it's rainy and stormy and winds are rocking my little cottage...but that's cool too....
