I use MSE Microsoft security essentials now. My friends says use avast again with Spybot: search and destroy and Malware bytes free. My local help desk says avast slows down your system and Malware bytes often has false positives. They told me to use MSE. My friends says avast has the best database for a free scanner, quickest updates and fast scans. I have heard Malware bytes is good. Should I use Cloud, my friends say it is the best but has 10 minutes updates.:confused . I don't know!

MSE is getting some fairly good scores recently but tests results would vary on who is the best if they were run every two weeks. Things change quickly with updates and the arrival of new malware. You may wish to read all of the results published in the below link but don't take them to be gospel ;)

Spybot is inadequate and does not properly detect and remove much of todays real malware problems. And Spybot only provides active protection if Teatimer is running and we never cared much for Teatimer. Spybot and Ad-Aware were removed from our cleaning process long ago due to their ineffectiveness.

Malwarebytes is very good but you must purchase it to get active protection.

Did you read the below as suggested in your other recent thread?

All programs do suffer from some false detections. Even MSE. MSE currently is low on the false detections list.

NO!!! What are you going to do when you have no internet connection which many of todays malware infections are going to block?
