What Software To Compare Drive D To Drive O And Usb_hdd_18 ?

    Hi,
Task 1. I need to find out if my D drive (user made data drive) is backed up between two drives, O an internal HDD and a usb_HDD number 18. ( I have 18 of them, another thread !)

FreeFileSync I have started using and a nice graphical interface, though the results under the source drive had no expand/contract + and no scroll bar, only mouse wheel scrolls down and takes forever, I then see its also repeated at left with those controls, so a bit confusing.
Anyhow it can only accept 1 drive for source and 1 for the comparison target. Ditto if one is comparing folders. If it shows up a load of files and folders only on D when comparing D to O, I dont know if they exist on drive usb_HDD_18 for example.

Unless there is a way of saying 'see these results, now are they on 18 ? !
to write them down and check visually is a no go as far too many.

What synch and comparison prog is there with a graphical interface, (rather than what looks like lines if coding and addresses, showing file size, biggest at top etc as FFS does) , that will do this ?

Task 2. Better still a prog that can scan my drives, such as AbeMeda that remembers whats on all removables, then tell me where D also exists, as it may have removed backups in 2 or more locations, and what doesnt exist anywhere else, then allow me to select the singletons (I call it prime data, alone and vulnerable) and back them up to a shown destination with enough space. WITH VERIFICATION.

The PC has 2Tb for D and O is also 2Tb but I see O is full yet D is almost. so I have copied some of my Photos folders from D to somewhere else to make space, and need to know where they are now.

Task 3. I also need VERIFICATION that a copy of a file or folder has got there intact.

Alarmed to find FreeFileSync by default doesnt do so (need to edit the xml file in windows to verify = true then it takes 2x the time to copy) as I just used it to backup D to a usb_HDD_019 as PC said I/O device error D, turned out the new usb was the cause, but backing up D with no verification is not comforting.

Task 4. I also need the prog to accept a drag drop of e.g. 20 folders and compare them to a Drive or the same selected 20 folders, when a drive has I/O error one cannot mess about making a folder to drop the 20 into and ditto on the source, as the whole system was taking ages for copying, 200kb/s v 60Mb/sec ! so just the rehoming to get a single folder to suit the prog would have caused further delays when trying to save 4Tb of data on the supposed failing HDD !

I am win 7 64bit pro so prog must run on that. (in process of planning for win10)

    Thanks

I use to love FolderMatch, it is still a good program, but they changed the interface, some people just don't like change.:) I have tried Scooter Beyond Compare, not enough to recommend it and Araxis Merge, I got it in a software bundle, but never gave it a try, just stuck to FolderMatch.

Robocopy is command line but does have logging and some other things you want, there are GUIs out there RoboMirror comes to mind.
Another solution may be https://www.wincatalog.com/, heard of it but never had a reason to try it, but it keeps track of drives and supposedly has a dupe check.

    Hi,
Q1. Are you saying that Folder match will allow me to select D as source and O and usb_19 as destination to see if D is existing on them both, doing the compare at the same time to the both, which is what I need ?
Q3. does it verify when copying ?
Q4. does it allow drag drop of multiple folders, unlike FFS that only compares one at a time ?

I dont want to keep loading progs on my pc then deleting them until I find one that does.
    it messes up the PC.

    Cheers

    DBenz.
