What do you use, and why?

I use none of the above. I use the one that comes with Floppy_Office. It's called Ted NotePad. It has many, many features.

 

I use Notepad most of the time. But I did notice that its on the list twice, so I don't know which one of those I use

 

Notepad is what ships with Windows

Notepad++ is a free 3rd party application. It's like Notepad on steroids. It does syntax highlighting for a variety of programming languages, automatic backups, etc. Very nice program.

I probably use nano most often, then notepad.

 

I have used Notepad++ before. Indeed a great piece of software. What I am talking about is:

My mistake. I lost the ++ off Notepad++, in the process of cutting, pasting and re-arranging.
You are correct, Notepad++ is the second choice. Bazza
