What to you guys think of Alienware

I wanted to purchase one but I keep getting mixed reviews.

A lot of People are whining about how there peices of shit and Customer Support is horrible. but then they won so many awards for support and preformance.

I know there expensive but they have more and faster stuff in them. I've yet to find another company that gives 2TB of HD space. I know I could build my own but AW lets me make payments.

 

Alianware systems are just pre overclocked systems......Very overrated IMO...and very overpriced to boot.....

 

I'm not impressed at all. My friend has been trying to buy one recently (with my help)... first thing I noticed when visiting their site was that they redirect to bluestreak.com

Now, my antivirus program at work flags cookies from bluestreak.com (this may mean nothing, but was still of notice)

Then, after placing an order, they called him to confirm. They wanted to do a conference call with his bank. The bank answered the phone, and IMMEDIATELY dismissed the call as a security breach. The salesperson then wanted my friend to call them with her on the line, and NOT TELL THE BANK she was there. To lie to them, essentially.

Of course, he was concerned, and opted to have a confirmation email sent to him instead. This letter was supposed to be a form for him to fill out, and return. HOWEVER, the letter he received had no form, and requested that he do a conference call witht the bank before proceeding. Not only that, but it was from a domain other than alienware (custhelp.com, specifically), and contained a dead link to a webpage on a domain other than alienware.com

So my trust in them is shaky at best. These kind of practices are very concerning.....

 

You can build a much better machine yourself, for considerably LESS.
